The noble gases make up Group 18 of the periodic table. They are all very unreactive and almost never form compounds, although scientists have created a few compounds of xenon. There are seven noble gases, and they are helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, radon, and ununoctium. Radon and ununoctium are both radioactive. An interesting property of the noble gases is that they glow different colors when an electric current is passed through them. Neon, for example, gives off a red-orange glow. All of these elements are colorless, odorless gases at room temperature.
