Mendelevium has an atomic number of 101, and it was named for the Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev, who created the first periodic table. Mendelevium was discovered at the University of California, and its chemical symbol is Md. There are no current applications for mendelevium, one of the reasons for this is that it is highly radioactive.
Okay, so the first thing I'd like to say here is that this isn't exactly a blog. It is a place where you can learn about the latest developments in science, or you can find out about what happened in chemistry on a certain day. Anyway...
Every time something happens in science (especially chemistry), and I hear about it, I will make a new "blog" post. Also, please fill out the survey on this page. It would be greatly appreciated. |
